The Many Faces of Caleb

It's been a while since we've been back from Caleb's big trip and it's also been a while since we posted on this blog... Life is busy with Dad back at work and now Mom doesn't have the luxury of saying, "Here - he's your kid for a while!"  But the good news is that Caleb's becoming more and more charming every day, with a smile that lights up the room.  These are all pictures from the last two weeks showing an impressive repertoire of cuteness.  No other comments here other than to enjoy the show!  More coming soon, including video...

Caleb at home and around town

Here are a few random pictures from over the past few weeks, just before and just after our trip back east.

Caleb's barely visible in this picture and was on my chest when I took the next three, but these are the kinds of hike we like to go on with him.

New on our most recent hike:  instead of nestling into my chest and sleeping, now when Caleb's in the Ergo he spends as much time as he can pushing his hands into my chest so he can keep his head out and look at me, or see what else there is to see.  (And then he goes to sleep...)

Family mealtime!

More bath photos...

A clean, happy baby!

We like to dress Caleb up in what we call his "little man" outfits.  A baby with a belt and pockets, when his pants will never fall down past his diaper, and I can't imagine him putting anything in his pockets.  I guess that's partly why retail price on this outfit was more than most outfits his Mom and Dad wear!

Caleb snuggled up with Auntie Tami.

Caleb in the Bumbo!  We're just at the beginning of when he can use the Bumbo.

Emmy in the Bumbo showing Caleb how it's done!  Phil and Karen's adorable little girl is a month older than Caleb.

I swore we'd never rely on plasticky things with batteries that play sounds over and over again until they're tattooed on your brain... but Caleb enjoys his buzzy chair, and it comes with this little attachment with blinky lights that plays a "kid's greatest hits" medley (if you're happy and you know it, three blind mice, B-I-N-G-O, etc.), which keeps him happy and therefore keeps us happy.  Whatever buys us some time!
